This certainly lived up to its dramatic promise. It was surprisingly easy to assemble for our contractor (who luckily was on-site when the package arrived.) One reason we ordered it was a review from a senior citizen who had commented that it was no problem for him. Another reason we bought it was that it used incandescent bulbs -- we have forsworn halogens. The on-line catalog stated that it took 60-watt bulbs. However, the instructions and lamp itself stipulated 40-watters. I called ATG and the manufacturer, Lite-Source and got mixed advice. The latter cautioned that using 60-watt bulbs might cause a fire so we opted for 40-watters. The 200-watt total illuminates well enough for our two reading chairs, amplified by a torchiere in the opposite corner. Note that the arms are not adjustable; that is, you cannot move them closer to the floor.
All-in-all, we are very happy with our floor lamp.

I love the lamp-perfect for a corner plus I got the dimmer switch which adds to the versatility of the lamp-very happy with the value & service.

This lamp is stylish and provides good light. It is quite tall. It looks fine in our living room with vaulted ceiling, but would be oversized for a room with standard ceiling height.

Searched for a long time to find a lamp that the controls were accessable on the pole for positioning behind a sofa, most lamps of this type had the foot switch type of controls in the base where they were not accessable. This one was user friendly.
